About the Directors

Mr. Beauen Bogner

Mr. Bogner graduated from Baylor University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting Performance and is a certified teacher in 6-12 Theatre.  His favorite adage?  "You have to be wise to have wisdom."  Despite the inanity of the remark, wisdom is a quality that is vastly undervalued by our society.  Anyone can be blessed with natural talent or intelligence.  But wisdom if something far more valuable and only comes through experience, an open mind and discernment.

For those of you wondering about his first name, Beauen - the root "Beau" means "handsome" and the "en" suffix ... we have no idea.  Perhaps it was an after thought, as in, "Gee that's a handsome baby ... sort of."  The name is phonetically pronounced "Bowen", as in: Go shoot a "bow", put the cake in the ov-"en".

Next year, Mr. Bogner will be directing Les Miserables, The Music Man and Over the River and Through the Woods.

Mr. Eric Arpelar

A big Wildcat welcome to the newest member of the LHHS faculty, Eric Arpelar.  "Mr. Big E", as his students call him, will serve as Technical Director for the theatre program. He earned a Master of Arts in Theatre from Texas Womans University in 2008, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2001.

Mr. Arpelar has been married to his wife Medina for 10 years, and they have two children, Carissa (7) and Zane (4).  He describes himself as an "eccentric stagehand carny who loves to teach theatre". When not doing theatre, he enjoys time with his family, golf, fantasy sports, going to the movies and exercising.
